    Description

    Hi Folks!
Up for your consideration today is a used, checked, and working Icom R2-07 general coverage receiver, S/N 07376.
It comes with the flexible antenna, a copy of the operating manual and two “AA” batteries.
It does not have the belt clip or wrist strap.
The range is 495 kc -1300 MHz.
This one DOES receive the normally blocked cellular channels, so although it’s marked as an R2, it’s an R2-07.
As such, it is only for sale to people authorized to own it.
I’ll use the honor system on this.
Here are descriptions and specifications for the unit (shamelessly lifted from the Universal Radio site!):
The Icom IC-R2 is a miracle of miniaturization. At only 2.3"x3.4"x1" (58x86x27 mm) is it absolutely packed with features. It is especially big on coverage, tuning from 495 kHz to 1309.9 MHz (less cellular) in these modes: AM, FM Narrow and FM wide. The triple conversion circuit provides amazing sensitivity for the size. It has 400 channels of memory (8 banks of 50). Each memory stores: frequency, mode, step size, duplex direction and offset, CTCSS tone, tone squelch and skip settings. Plus you get an additional 50 band-edge memories. You can scan one bank or all banks. Both automatic and manual Squelch are supported and CTCSS decode is built in! Other features include: attenuator, LCD display with lamp, auto power off (30/60/90/120 mins.) and battery save. The efficient circuit operates on just two AA cells. There is a mini headphone jack.
The IC-R2-07 model is the same as above, but without the 824-849 / 869-894 MHz cellular gap and could be purchased via government or qualifying commercial purchase order or for export only.

The radio has been selectively tested for performance and functionality on a number of bands and modes.
Power On/Off, Band, Volume, Mode, Tuning Speed, and Squelch buttons were tested.
Everything I checked worked fine, no issues were found.
Cosmetics are good: It’s a fairly clean radio.
Battery box is in good condition, with no sign of leaking batteries.
Audio sounds good, both internally and into an external 8 Ohm speaker.
For the quieting tests, I used the following:
10 dBQ for the AM mode.
12 dBQ for the NBFM mode.
AM: 1000 Hz tone at 30% modulation.
FM: 1000 Hz tone at 3.0 kc deviation.
